Metadata is what appears on search engine result pages (SERPs) when a website comes up for certain queries. It includes the title of the page and its meta description. By using internal linking strategically, you can boost the ranking of other pages on your website. Say you have a popular page that is ranking highly in Google and receiving a lot of traffic. By strategically placing a link on that page to another on your site that you want to rank, you can pass “authority” to that page. Good SEO means forgetting SEO and concentrating on your user then. And it also means forgetting SEO in that you are going to be trying to merge your different marketing strategies in order to create one bigger approach. It means trying to write amazing posts and share them on SEO so that you get more links and it means writing great content that keeps people on your page longer. A Dofollow is any link that hasn’t been coded as a Nofollow, this code is a sign for search engines not to count the link. The absence of a Nofollow code automatically makes the link a Dofollow which is great for SEO. Google won’t penalise sites that it can trust and so, it will never hurt to be connected with a dependable domain. Because of this, older websites have proven to be more reliable and preferred by Google as opposed to cheap websites or black hat spam.

Showcase your social feeds on your home page

The only way to reliably build links is to create amazing content, but the standard for 'amazing content' gets higher and higher every year. If you are taking the time to create, publish and promote content to build backlinks, it’s smart to measure your progress. It helps the search engines quickly determine what the page is about. Websites that receive many inbound links can be more likely to rank higher in search engines. Basically, inbound links tell site crawlers that your website is an authority on a certain subject -- so the more inbound links you have from high quality, high authority sites, the better your website can rank in search engine results pages (SERPs).

In the same way that it takes time to improve your SEO rankings with improvements built up over time, the reverse is true for when you stop optimising your website. At first, your rankings will continue as before but over time you’ll notice that your website rankings will start to drop. Algorithm updates, competitor improvements and loss of links will all negatively impact on your rankings and put you back to square one. When a search query is being typed, the search engine looks in its index, even while it is being entered, for the most relevant information and displays the results in the SERPs. The results are then sorted by relevance. Higher rankings in the first few results are critical to visibility. Successful sites load fast. Even a small delay can have an impact on visitor numbers, ad views and conversions.

Optimize images with your key term

One question that often arises in regards to HTML tags and linking is whether or not internal links should be “nofollowed.” “Rel=’nofollow’” instructs Google to not allow PageRank to flow through the link. Like any good SEO campaign, your optimization strategy should be dictated by your campaign goals. If your top level goals are straight-forward, such as increase revenue, then decide which optimization path is going to be the most effective based on your business. Remember, there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to optimization strategies. For the most part, you’ll be relying on trial and error to pinpoint what works and what doesn’t for your brand. We asked an SEO Specialist, Gaz Hall, for his thoughts on the matter: "The small businesses with a physical place of business would do well to invest in local SEO, online public relations and branding, optimizing for mobile and experimenting with Google AdWords."

Track Desktop and Mobile Analytics and Metrics Separately

If a search engine recognizes cloaking it will penalize the website by permanently removing it from the search engine index. The website will no longer appear in search results. If you’re goal for a guest post is to receive a backlink in return, then you would want to make sure their website has a number of good quality backlinks. The number of quality backlinks a website has will determine how powerful a link you will get. As you spend time identifying your target audience and conducting keyword research, you’ll begin to uncover long tail keywords that will help you identify the best options for naming and describing your product or service. If your content is consistently very short and not original the Google algorithm is likely to consider the site low-quality.
