Maybe the most fascinating thing about search is how quickly and regularly it changes. What we’ve covered here today may be replaced by something entirely different a few years or a few months from now as technology continues to evolve. Search volume refers to how many times a particular phrase is searched for. It’s a handy way to gauge how much traffic you’ll receive from a specific query, though you should know that volume tends to fluctuate over time. The best ways to get do follow links is the honest way: creating awesome, original content that gets shared and linked to naturally. Other approaches include guest blogging, especially on a site relevant to your own so that you can build referral traffic in addition to getting an SEO boost. One of the first steps you take in a social media marketing campaign is claiming and filling out your social profiles with information about your company from your name and type of business to your address and phone number. This is indexable content and it can indirectly help your local rankings; many third-party review sites mine social media profiles for local business information, which they then compile into entries on their site.

Figure out your audience and message

In the vast sea of websites--from e-commerce, media and informational websites to blogs and wikis--most site owners use a basic approach to search engine optimization. They submit their site to more than 200 search engines and blast these with some domains and keywords that may be related to the site. In order to get the authoritative links that Google respects and sustain your search rankings, you need to concentrate on getting contextual links (i.e., links surrounded by relevant content). If you optimize your meta descriptions with clear and attractive extracts on what potential visitors can find on your site, it becomes easier for them to see if the information they’re looking for is on that page. If you’re thinking about using a CMS plugin that automatically hyperlinks a certain word every time it appears on your website (i.e. like Wikipedia does), I’d suggest refraining from doing so unless you’re a relatively big brand or if it makes complete sense from a UX perspective.

Include relevant keywords into your site headings

RankBrain is Google's machine learning artificial intelligence system that's used to help provide the best search results for users. It auto updates itself and "learn's" from people's searches. Putting your individuality and personality across throughout the off-site SEO process (outreach emails, guest posts, social shares, etc.) makes others more likely to engage with you. Craft your unique selling proposition (USP) based on your own personality and the way you can best solve your customers’ problems. Another factor in determining the value of a link is the way the link is implemented and where it is placed. For example, the text used in the link itself (i.e., the actual text that a user clicks on to go to your web page) is also a strong signal to the search engines. Since search engines focus more on the initial words of the titles, make sure you add your keywords at the start of your title tag – this will help you rank better.

What does that entail? Link diversity!

Audit your site using tools such as Google’s PageSpeed Insights or Pingdom’s speed test to quickly compile a list of options to help give your site a little more zip. You may even need to review your hosting service if it’s holding you back… SEO is a long-term commitment that offers long-term results. Know that good SEO isn’t going to take a few days and you won’t see huge results in weeks. SEO takes months, but the benefits last for years. Google, now more than ever, don't just want more content, they want content that they feel is quality. We asked an SEO Specialist, Gaz Hall, for his thoughts on the matter: "Expanding your online operation into a new market? Want to ensure that your website is ready for a different language and/or region? You will need to ensure that your website is well optimised for International SEO. "

Localize your content for better customer experience

Choosing a perfect focus keyword is not an exact science. You should aim for a combination of words that are used by a search audience. Aim for a focus keyword that is relatively high on volume and aim for one that will fit your audience. On the internet, you can find hundreds of blogs, which are coming from self-proclaimed online marketers. What I find lacking in those blogs is they don’t take in stride the transition of content from the first-among-the-equal to being synonymous with SEO. Heading tags are tags that are used for the creations of headings. The most important tag is the h1 heading tag, and will usually be the title of a post. Heading tags have a top-down hierarchy from h1 to h6. What value do headings have for SEO? More and more, search engines have begun to incorporate social context into their search results.
