One task the search engines face is judging the value of content. Although evaluating how the community responds to a piece of content using link analysis is part of the process, the search engines can also draw some conclusions based on what they see on the page. Generally speaking where a user is asking a question as part of their search query the results will return a featured snippet. In order to find opportunities for featured snippets we need to go back to keyword research to find suitable terms, the higher volume key phrases should be used as a basis for further research as you’ll then often see better opportunities in the “People also ask” section with more specific questions being asked that offer much better opportunities for featured snippets. Unsurprisingly, larger companies tend to outspend smaller firms when it comes to SEO. Ensure your website is crawlable with the site:yourdomain.com search. Note the number of results.

Focus more on Brand building

Google normally takes into account bounce rate and the time spent on a site as ranking factors. If visitors are bouncing away due to navigation confusion and poor content structure, you can be sure that the search bots are too. A common way to judge the reputation of a website is to check its Domain Authority (DA). DA is a score (on a 100-point scale) developed by Moz that predicts how well a website will rank on search engines. A site’s DA can grow over time, like a lifelong reputation. A backlink from a high DA website to your own is a strong indicator of your own authority on a topic. For instance, bbc.co.uk, a news site which is trusted the world over has a very high DA of 95. A backlink from a site like this would be powerful for your backlink profile. The number, accuracy and quality of your business' local citations improve its chances of featuring highly in search results. For example, “What is a graco taco?” makes a lot more sense than “what graco taco.” So while many SEO plugins and search experts will advise you to remove stop words, sometimes it’s best to leave them in if they drastically impact the meaning of the phrase. Be your own judge.
