Make a list of the keywords for
which you want to rank highly. Does the content you share on social media
and your blog cover those keywords? Zero in on one or two of your most
desirable keywords and find ways to make content under those keywords
more shareable. Most SEO consultants have said goodbye to spammy, shady optimization techniques because Google actively penalized you for it since 2011. Cloaking refers to an attempt to boost search result rankings by serving different content to Googlebot than to regular users. This causes problems such as less relevant results (pages appear in search results even though their
content is actually unrelated to what users see/want), so Google takes cloaking very seriously. Links from longer form, evergreen content (a 1,000+ word article that’s been popular for a long time) will be higher value than short, news-based posts.
To rank, you need authority. To have authority, you need links. To get links, you must be visible with people who create content. Therefore to rank, you need relationships. SEO experts have been

It’s now extremely common for people to use their mobile devices to perform a search instead of using a desktop or laptop computer. The best way to build links is to not build links. I’ve worked for companies in the past that don’t have to ask for them, they just flow in from press, customer blogs, their awesome blog posts, etc. If this is an option (and we’ll go over a couple of ways to make it more likely) you’re in a great place. As you create content for your website, link to other pages on your site within your content. Use anchor text that uses the page’s target keywords or phrases that explain what the page is about.

sometimes involve a large number of clicks. White hat, grey hat, and black hat are terms used to describe the type of SEO tactics used. White hat SEOs follow the guidelines of Google and other search engines. Grey hat SEOs aren’t afraid to bend the rules a bit, while black hat SEOs blatantly break the rules. Effective content curation, better accessibility practices and proper information architecture are all key components for strong SEO.

If your local business has a Google+ page and is marked on Google Maps, you need to have reviews. The best thing you can do is encourage your customers to leave reviews if they’re satisfied with your service. This may lead to a series of posts that offer additional value, making it easier for search engines to understand your key topics. Search engines want to deliver the best results to searchers based on the search terms visitors enter. For advanced users, the information an analytics package provides,
combined with data from your server log files, can provide even more
comprehensive information about how visitors are interacting with
your documents (such as additional keywords that searchers might
use to find your site).
